Over the last month, twenty nine Jesuits were ordained to the priesthood in the United States, Canada, and Haiti. These Jesuits come from diverse backgrounds and have attended and worked at many Jesuit colleges and universities throughout their up-to eleven year Jesuit formation.
Ryan Rallanka S.J., for example of Jesuits West, was ordained on Saturday June 10th at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Hollywood, CA. Fr. Ryan studied sociology at Seattle University where his vocation to the Jesuits was confirmed. He is a trained musician whose music helps him see God’s action and love in the world. Finishing his theological studies at the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University, he will be sent to Seattle Preparatory School to serve as a teacher.
