AJCU AnTI-RACISM Examen

St. Ignatius of Loyola’s Examen of Consciousness or Examen is an opportunity for daily reflective prayer. It is a spiritual posture and process of pondering the currents and undercurrents of our everyday lives that can help us make decisions and act in more life-affirming ways. Eminently flexible, the Examen can be adapted by individuals and organizations as needed. With the on-going struggle for racial justice on our campuses and throughout the world, the AJCU has developed Eyes to See: An Anti-Racism Examen to enhance the connection between personal reflection and institutional action. INTEGRAL Podcast

Produced by Santa Clara University’s Bannan Forum of the Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education, Integral Podcast explores the question, “Is there a common good in our common home?” Given the ongoing impacts of systemic racism in the United States, Integral’s inaugural season examined racism’s impact on our common good so that we might build a better society. Their first episode, for example, examined the racial disparity in mass incarceration in the United States, and can be heard to the right. Subsequent seasons have explored justice issues such as economics, gender, and the environment. All episodes of INTEGRAL can be found at the Bannan Forum’s website.
